Bexley Foodbank

Operating across the Bexley borough, this project provides emergency food and support to local people in crisis. It is our nearest foodbank and is part of the Trussell Trust’s UK-wide foodbank network. For more information http://bexley.foodbank.org.uk/

Frontline care professionals such as doctors and social workers give vouchers to people in crisis and they can then exchange these vouchers for food at a foodbank distribution centre. Local churches have opened a distribution centre in Erith, based at Queen Street Baptist Church and operating on Wednesday and Saturday mornings from 10am to 1pm.

We have a box in church into which you can place donations of non-perishable food items. These are the sorts of items needed:

• UHT milk

• Sugar (500g)

• Tinned soup

• Pasta sauces & dried pasta

• Tinned tomatoes

• Cereals

• Tea bags & instant coffee

• Rice

• Tinned meat or fish

• Tinned fruit

• Jam

• Biscuits or snack bars

• Instant mash potato

• Cartons of pasteurised fruit juice.
